Javier Torres, coordinator of the 2025 Fiordos Chapuzón, shares details about the vibrant event that will kick off the tourist season in Puerto Natales on October 12, 2025.
A key meeting was held between the organizers of the "Fiords Plunge", local tourism, commerce, and crafts associations, and the Municipality of Natales to coordinate details for the upcoming edition of this unique event in Magallanes.
The Fjords Plunge takes place on the waterfront of Puerto Natales, right in front of the Costa Australis Hotel, in the Magallanes Region.
The event officially begins at 2:00 PM with music, entertainment, and presentations. The plunge itself usually takes place between 3:00 and 4:00 PM, depending on the final lineup of performers.
- Before: Only warm, comfortable clothing.
- During: Swimsuit or light clothing + sandals or shoes (mandatory).
- After: Dry, warm clothes and a large towel or quick-dry poncho to change into.
You must be officially registered, accept and sign the online waiver, be of legal age (or have legal authorization if underage), and be in good health for cold-water exposure.
